Our Mission and Purpose:
The mission of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy® is to train students as Certified Hypnotherapists, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, and Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapists through the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists by offering a high-quality education in the field of Hypnotherapy while creating professional, ethical, and exceptionally well-trained hypnotherapists.
Our History and Vision for the Future:
The Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy® began as the Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy in Gainesville, Florida in 2007 as Florida’s first state-licensed school of Hypnotherapy. Matthew J. Brownstein founded the school with the help of his mentor Mr. Gil Boyne in the spirit of raising the standards of Hypnotherapy training.
Matthew had successfully run his private practice for ten years before founding the Institute. His first class of students was a group of 25 people. Pulling internally from his graduates, Matthew continued to expand and grow, and in 2012 he moved the school to Tampa, Florida to have larger classrooms and a larger population to draw from.
In time, the Institute moved to the top of one of downtown Tampa’s skyscrapers, which is where most of the training videos were filmed.
Since 2007, Matthew and his team have conducted trainings in Naples, Hollywood, Miami, Tampa, Gainesville, Orlando, and Jacksonville, Florida, as well as Alexandria, Virginia, Crestline and Temecula, California, Dallas, Texas, and Charlotte, North Carolina. The school began working with distance learning platforms in 2009 and now has students, graduates, and staff all around the world.

The corporate name of Anahat Meditation Center was changed to Anahat Education Group around 2014 to better represent the mission of this work, yet the heart of it all still resides with The Anahat Meditation System and the Sacred Geometry teachings found in Matthew’s collected writings.
Philanthropic Efforts:
For many years, we have donated to the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity on a monthly basis.
