What is A Course in Miracles?
A Course in Miracles is a book consisting of a core text, a workbook for students and a manual for teachers. Its core philosophy resides in the miracle, a shift which occurs in the mind, which leads from fear to love, suffering to peace, and illusion to truth. The means of the miracle is forgiveness, which allows the mind to become free of false perceptions that create the illusion of separation and disharmony. By aligning our minds to a higher and wiser voice within, we allow profound shifts in perception that lead us back to peace within ourselves and with others.
How Do Miracles Relate to Hypnotherapy Training?
According a ACIM, a miracle is not always observable, which means that we do not always see bones heal or people walk on water. A miracle is a shift in the mind, and there is perhaps no more powerful way of accessing the mind than hypnosis. When we learn how to tap into the power of the subconscious mind and apply ACIM principles, we empower our clients to align with who they truly are and open to all of the love, peace and joy that resides within. These mental shifts often have powerful observable effects in the hearts, minds, bodies and lives of our clients.
How Do I Study A Course in Miracles and Hypnotherapy?
Picking up the book is a good start, yet ACIM can be intimidating at first. Local study groups offer solid ways to learn the Course with other like-minded individuals in the spirit of love and respect. There are many books that serve as good primers to ACIM and there are many YouTube videos as well. In our hypnosis training, we gently mention ACIM principles and gradually welcome in the power of the miracle throughout the training itself. Students are never indoctrinated in any one philosophy or methodology, yet those who are interested will find ample resources about how to deepen their understanding of the Course and how to apply it to their own private hypnotherapy practice.
