Having been in the field of Hypnotherapy and Hypnotherapy Training since 1997, I have seen countless people suffering needlessly because of their own minds. People are filled with false beliefs and negative emotions which ruin their lives, their relationships, and their health. The vast majority of people come to hypnotherapy for issues that are completely resolvable because it is the mind that is causing the problems, and that very same mind can be easily transformed with the right tools and the right understanding. In a thorough Hypnotherapy Certification Training, students need to not only know powerful protocols to induce positive change, they also need to know how to handle situations when they do not go as planned. We work from the model that it is not the client’s fault if they do not succeed. Telling a client that they are not hypnotizable or that they are resisting is a very irresponsible way of being a professional in our field. What we experience today as modern hypnotherapy is not what existed many hundreds of years ago. There has been an evolution of our understanding from the days of primitive religion, to the pioneering work of Franz Anton Mesmer, through classical hypnotherapy, and all the way into what we now call Interpersonal Hypnotherapy.
We are pleased to announce the launch of a new Podcast with IIH graduate Corey Benschop, CCHt, which focuses on all of the many themes associated with the school, such as hypnotherapy, spirituality, philosophy, and mind/body healing.
We use the word “trance” to describe the hypnotic state, yet what exactly is a trance, how deep does the rabbit hole really go, how do we induce this state, and how do we know when clients are actually in this state? Understanding this one keyword can truly help us to know what hypnosis is all about. To begin, we can define hypnosis as a natural, yet altered state of mind, where we have communication and responsiveness with the subconscious mind. Trance is therefore just another way of referring to the altered state of hypnosis, and there are different ways to measure this. One of the most common questions that I get from new students is something along the lines of “Can hypnosis be used for…?” The answer is generally always the same. “Anything that the mind affects, hypnosis can work on.”
Covid-19 caused many businesses to have to readjust how they function and unfortunately, many went out of business and will never be seen again. Of course, we in the field of hypnotherapy and hypnotherapy training had our concerns. Fortunately, 2020 opened many doors for the field of hypnotherapy that have been quite beneficial.

* Hypnotherapy Training is taught at the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy®, through the Florida Department of Education’s Commission for Independent Education, License #3448. IIH is licensed to teach medical/clinical hypnotherapy as a school, yet all practitioners are required to work within the confines of Federal, State, County, and City laws. All medical, mental health, or dental conditions require the appropriate referral, prescription, supervision, or direction from a qualified licensed practitioner of the healing arts as per Florida Statute 485. All graduates who are not licensed practitioners of the healing arts are not to use words such as healing, treat, cure, or diagnose as we strongly discourage operating outside of the scope of one’s credentials.
There is currently no charge to take these lessons and you only need to sign up if you want to start working to work to become a Certified Anahat Meditation Teacher. Signing up allows us to send you email notifications about upcoming classes and events.
