Many of us have a deep inner calling to be healers. We understand that the traditional medicalmodel has its place, but that a person is more than just a set of imbalanced bio-chemicals. We want to create change on deeper levels and on the levels where only true and lasting change can occur. We want to live truly meaningful lives and we want to do it knowing that we are coming from integrity in that we are legitimately offering true help.
When we only attempt to “heal” the physical body we know that we are not always addressing the root cause of the problem. In psychosomatic illness this is obviously the case, yet those who only work on physical levels must realize deep in their hearts that they are not actually being of service in a way that will benefit the client long-term. Those who work to resolve psychosomatic illness by only treating the physical body may have the highest intentions, yet are simply limited by theirtraining and credentials.
At some point, many who wish to be of service in the healing realms start to acknowledge what is commonly known as the “energy body.” Energy healing then becomes the predominant idea as found in traditions such as: Reiki, Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Therapeutic Touch. The basic theme is to heal the deficiencies, excesses, imbalances or “blockages” in the flow of life-force energy and hope for healing to occur on the physical level.
The problem with only addressing the energy body is the lack of the ability to heal the cause of the energy imbalances themselves. In psychosomatic illness we acknowledge that the mind is causing the physical problem. In energy medicine we acknowledge that the energy is out of balance because of the mind, however in energy medicine we usually have no way of directly healing the mind. In traditional forms of mental health counseling we are also often quite limited in gaining access to the root cause of the problem in the mind, which is the subconscious mind. This is where hypnotherapy becomes a radiant answer to the problem.
With this simple logic we can see that healing the mind is often the most important place to start in psychosomatic illness. Hypnotherapy addresses the mind as a whole – both conscious and subconscious – yet it looks directly at the subconscious and gets to the root cause where true change can be made. At the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy we have seen the benefit of offering State-Licensed credentials in the field of Hypnotherapist Certification because of the very theme of this article. By empowering those who wish to heal with legitimate credentials in the field of Hypnotherapy, we are proud to be able to offer this opportunity.
Hypnotherapist Certification from a true Hypnotherapy School is one of the most powerful ways to begin learning about healing the mind, to heal the energy body and therefore to often very effectively heal the physical body.
