Hypnotherapy – The Zen of Hypnotherapy Training
The Zen of Hypnotherapy Training
What is Zen? In the Tao Te Ching, it says that those who know do not speak and those who speak do not know, yet how can we use words to explain truly profound principles of healing, living, loving, and serving? The path is right here before us. We walk on it even as we strive for something more.
We tend to live in our minds in the past and in the future and we seldom truly embrace what is with a tenderness which encourages a commitment to truth. Kahlil Gibran wrote in The Prophet that we should know the pain of too much tenderness and to bleed willingly and joyfully. We encourage you to read more about how a mature way of looking at the world combines beautifully with a Hypnotherapy Training which is dedicated to relieving suffering, empowering graduates, and to making the world a truly better place to live in.
The Bodhisattva Vow
In Buddhism, and certainly in Zen Buddhism, we encounter the idea of the Bodhisattva. This is someone who is quite accomplished on the path of spiritual growth, yet who chooses to remain active in the world to relieve the suffering of all beings. This can be a formal vow or just a way of approaching life. It can motivate us to see clients when we are tired, to persevere even though we might want to give up at times, and it motivates us to do good because the world truly needs healers right now.
You can be a part of the solution to relieve suffering, yet only if you have the skills to do so. Anyone can meditate and claim to be a Bodhisattva, yet to engage in a profession where you help to heal people’s hearts and minds on a daily basis is what Hypnotherapy Training and Certification is all about.
Abstract Zen
Zen is what is. Zen is a radical embracing of the moment without mental filters. It asks us to open our eyes and to wake up. When we do, we discover a world of tremendous beauty, harmony and wonder. However, we also discover a world of illusion, delusion, and error. We see people getting sick and dying at an alarming rate. We see poverty, hunger, war, homelessness, and hypocrisy at perhaps unprecedented levels. Zen is not meant to be an abstract philosophy. It is not meant to be a theoretical study. Zen practice encourages us to stop, be still, to breathe, to look deeply at what is, and then to take actions based upon reality as it stands before us now.
If we see that someone is cold, then we give them a jacket. If we see that people’s minds are unhealed, then we can learn Hypnotherapy to help to resolve the root cause of the problem right where we see it now.
Compassion in Action
Zen practice encourages a compassionate and loving heart. When we look deeply, we see that there is pain and suffering. It is not hard to see this. The real question is, with a compassionate heart, what do you do with the rest of your time here on earth? To become an Interpersonal Hypnotherapist is to honor the Bodhisattvic ideal of being of service until all beings are free from suffering. Now is the time. There is no other time. There is only this moment where we are asked as Teilhard de Chardin said, where humanity will need to make a choice between either suicide or adoration. We either step up to the plate and start adoring others and helping them to heal, or we choose sickness, pain, and death. Zen practice is a matter of life and death. It is real, it is before us now, and it is more important than ever for each of us to hear the call and to be a part of the solution. It is more important than ever.
